Rolling bench system with 2D-Shuttles
Westhoff Vertriebsges. mbH, located in Südlohn (Germany), one of the biggest and most respected potted plant growers in Europe, continued their longstanding cooperation with Logiqs when it came time to build their entirely new 40.000 m2 Greenhouse.
After carefully studying the specific requirements of the customer and the desired capacity of the greenhouse, we designed, produced and implemented a fully automatic rolling container system that uses 3.600 rolling containers (4.500 mm x 1.360 mm).
One of the main requirements of this ambitious project was, the ensuring of a very high capacity for the working area, so that there are no logistical bottlenecks during the peaks of production. With that in mind, we designed and implemented an automated work area that can cope with the high requirements, and that allows Westhoff to pot and/or space plants 24 hours/day, when needed.
The growing area was also not neglected, receiving high capacity automation solutions, in the form of Automatic Transport Lines and our unique 2d-Shuttle. This gives the growing area, great flexibility and allows for optimal space usage, being able to house around 1.500.000 potted plants at a time in this 3.3 Ha growing area.
The nursery also benefits from highly advanced and efficient irrigation systems, using Automatic Irrigation Booms for precise irrigation and distribution of nutrients, growth regulators and disease inhibitors.
To ensures a high level of hygiene in the greenhouse and reduce that risk of diseases for the crops, a 100 Degree Container Cleaner works together with an overhead crane to clean the containers between uses.
The entire rolling bench system is tied together using our industry leading software: Dat-A-Control

Logiqs has its own experienced installation and service team based in the Netherlands, but also collaborates with reliable service engineer teams in several countries so as to prevent unnecessary installation or maintenance costs.
Our customers can always rely on prompt and efficient attention for routine maintenance, breakdown or emergency situations.
Routine preventative maintenance can be tailored to the customer’s choice, with service intervals to suit the specific needs of the logistical system.
