Pligt Professionals is an innovative potted plant grower based in the Netherlands, operating two modern greenhouse facilities, in Heinenoord and in ‘s-Gravenzande.

Some of the colourful plants of the impressive range Pligt Professionals grows, are : Volcano, Aurora, Encanto Waterfall, Princettia, Sunny Side Up, Cyclone, Premium Begonia and Poinsettia.

In order to keep up with increasing demand for their potted plants, Pligt Professionals decided to build another 28.000 m2 state of the art greenhouse facility, that will mainly grow potted roses, next to their existing facility in ‘s-Gravenzande.



Multi-level rolling bench system with 2D-Shuttles

Already a long-time customer of Logiqs B.V., Pligt Professionals once again entrusted us to design and build an automated container system for this new greenhouse build.

The new greenhouse facility houses both a working area (potting/spacing/trimming/ harvesting) as well as a fully automated grow area.
To make the most of the available space, the work will also features an integrated 2nd layer of around 9.000m2. This way no grow space is wasted.

All in all, the system makes use of approximately 2.500 rolling benches (6.160 mm x 1.720 mm) with plastic ebb- and flood inner linings.

Because of the multiple production processes (potting/spacing/trimming/harvesting) that require the plants to pass by the working area several times, the greenhouse needed a high capacity and high reliability logistics system in order to prevent bottlenecks.

Considering this, the choice was made to fully automate the container system using seven of our innovative 2D-Shuttle’s together with high capacity automatic transport lines.
Two of the shuttles serve the second layer above the work area, while the other five serve the rest of the grow area.

The second level of the greenhouse is connected to the rest of the greenhouse using two high capacity Logiqs lifts.

By using the 2D-Shuttle system, the facility has an unmatched flexibility and the allocation of the grow area can be easily changed by the grower according to season peaks.

Furthermore the grow area is also fitted with 21 fully automatic Logiqs Irrigation Booms with both ebb and flood and spraying capabilities. Empty rolling bench management is done using two Logiqs Overhead Cranes, and the benches are be cleaned and disinfected between uses using the Logiqs 180° Cleaner.

Software

The entire rolling bench system is controlled using our industry leading control and registration software Dat-A-Control.

Besides the control of benches and machines, Dat-A-Control also gives the grower full access to the registration database for plant movements and undergone production processes, making the management of the nursery more efficient.

Logiqs has its own experienced installation and service team based in the Netherlands, but also collaborates with reliable service engineer teams in several countries so as to prevent unnecessary installation or maintenance costs.
